A beach reception under festoon lights among pine trees in Comporta at dusk

Weddings in Portugal

Sintra, Lisbon, Comporta and the Douro.

Portugal

Palaces, coast and quintas.

Portugal brings romantic palaces, tiled courtyards, long Atlantic beaches and vineyard estates within easy reach of one another, and of London.

Imogen plans weddings around Lisbon and Sintra, on the Comporta coast and in the Douro Valley, and can combine them for a celebration that moves from city to coast over a long weekend.

Practical notes

Before you decide.

When to marry

April to October. Spring and early autumn are warm without the full heat of high summer inland.

Getting there

About two hours forty minutes from London to Lisbon, or around two hours to Porto for the Douro.

The ceremony

Many couples marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony in Portugal. Imogen will talk through the options.
